Chachalaca Chiquita

Telling of my book, Chachalaca Chiquita. Six members of the audience assist with bird calls. Information about the real Texas animals is presented at the end. PowerPoint program of book pages is available for audience to view during presentation.

Texas Ranger History is Texas History

Using a PowerPoint presentation and referencing my book, Lone Star Legacy: The Texas Rangers Then and Now, the audience is taken through Texas Ranger events, 1823 to today. The stories, aligned with US and world timelines are amazing; always.  Also, Q & A, if time allows.

What's Out There? --Space Science

Combining research for six seven books and a magazine article, this presentations covers, NASA's astronaut training on the Weightless Wonder (the "Vomit Comet"), The Hubble Space Telescope, and our Solar System.  This can be geared anyway a teacher would like; one planet or the moon, for Kindergartners or everything listed and a Q & A.

Pulling A Story out of the air

This is a student writing workshop. It teaches an outline for a first-first draft. It also helps the young writer get over the jitters of writing a story. The key here, is to take the whole class through the process of creating a first draft. This gives the students the tools to make the jump and the giggle to overcome the fear. It takes 60 minutes. Handouts are available.

Skype Visit

This can be a version of one of these other presentations or a "meet the author; Q & A."  We will design it together.

Phoebe made her chili "flame-thrower hot." You can make it as mild or hot as you like it. It is my mother's recipe so you know it is good.
